WHO WE ARE
Greenville Family Theater (GFT) is a non-profit, community theater organization that’s passionate about the value of good theater. Each summer, we have put on excellent theatrical productions in the Greenville Municipal Auditorium, such as Singin’ in the Rain, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Hello, Dolly! In addition, we put on workshops and classes throughout the year.
Greenville Family Theater exists to nurture the creative spark in people. This includes two connected goals: First, to provide a positive environment that fosters true creativity so that all of the participants can learn to use their unique gifts to develop and share their talents in the performing arts. And second, to create first-class theatrical productions that reinforce community values and inspire all to build the content of their character and truly help others. In this way, we hope to not only develop the abilities of those who put on these productions, but benefit everyone in the community.
There are many different kinds of theatrical productions that meet different needs. We see a need for a place that provides quality theatrical productions that are good for the whole family. Our plan is to put on at least one first-class production each year at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium.
What audiences said about our performances:
I’ve taught dance and been in theater for 40 years and i can tell you this is as professional as it gets…amazing show.
This was a enthusiastic and fun performance by a talented group of teenagers that made for an enjoyable 4th of July afternoon.
I wish we could have seen this every showing. It was the best musical I have ever seen.
The play was fabulous by any standard and would love to see further productions for great family theater.
I don’t like musicals and dance, but this was fantastic! I really loved it!
I was seriously blown away by the talent and music and everything about it! I’m speechless.
The talent, costumes, and attention to detail was truly impressive. It was a wonderful way for local youth to show their love and support of the arts.
How old are these actors? They are so talented!
